On 23rd April 2025, the GAP-DC seminar series had pleasure to welcoming Dr. Gianluigi Rossi, a researcher at the Roslin Institute and the Centre of Expertise on Animal Disease Outbreak (EPIC).
Dr. Rossi delivered an insightful presentation titled " A phylogenetic approach to untangle the global and local spread of African Swine Fever.” The talk provided fascinating insights into how phylogenetic methods are being used to trace the transmission pathways of African Swine Fever (ASF) – a devasting disease affecting swine populations worldwide. The session concluded with a dynamic Q&A session, where participants exchanged ideas into the implications of this work for animal health surveillance and biosecurity.
