GAP-DC Invited Seminar Series

As part of the GAP-DC seminar series, we were delighted to host Ryo Iwamoto, Director of Research & Development at AdvanSentinel Inc., a leading company specializing in environmental surveillance and infectious disease monitoring.

On 12th February 2025, Ryo presented a seminar titled:"QuickConc: A Novel Approach for High-Sensitivity Detection of Nucleic Acids in Wastewater Surveillance."

The talk provided fascinating insights into the development of innovative solutions for detecting low-concentration nucleic acids in complex water samples. His recent work focuses on QuickConc, a high-sensitivity concentration method designed to enhance wastewater-based epidemiology. Through academic and industrial collaborations, Ryo aims to advance the global implementation of environmental surveillance as a critical tool for public health.

The session concluded with a vibrant Q&A, where participants exchanged ideas and explored the complexities of this important area of genomic research.
